Pros and cons

Pros

  • No deposit bonus
  • Great range of games

Cons

  • High wagering requirements
  • 24/7 support not available

So, a Yeti isn’t just a folklore creature – it’s an online casino too. But we’re only interested in the experience – good or bad – within this Yeti Casino review.

We have given Yeti Casino a pretty good rating overall. New players can get both a no deposit and first deposit bonus which only a few others offer. There’s also 24/7 customer support and decent withdrawal times on average.

But is this site good enough to make the top casinos online in the UK? Read on to find out.

1. Is Yeti legit?

UK licence for Yeti Casino

Yeti Casino has a licence from the UK Gambling Commission. This allows them to operate and accept players from the UK legally. All gambling sites in the UK must have this licence and it proves that Yeti Casino is legit and not a scam.

The site first launched in 2017 and is one of 9 casinos owned by L&L Europe Ltd. Yeti Casino has hundreds of slots and games available to play from several providers. All of these games have been tested for fairness.

2. Yeti customer support (help when you need it?)

Like any good business, casinos should be there for their customers when they need help. When push comes to shove, the only way for sites to do this is by having good customer support services. Not all sites do, so this is always something you should look into.

Yeti casino claim that they have a ‘high trained and dedicated team’ of customer support staff waiting to help with your needs.

They currently have four different methods of contacting them:

  • Live chat
  • Telephone
  • Email
  • Contact form

The Yeti live chat lets you talk to a support assistant in real-time so that you can get help immediately. This service runs 7 days a week, between 8 am and 1 am. When we tried to contact them, they were relatively speedy to reply and with helpful answers.

Their telephone support operates a similar schedule. So, although it’s not 24/7, you can actually speak to a real person on the phone which is rare.

Their email allows you to get help at a slower, more leisurely rate. Probably better for longer complaints or where you can attach screenshots of problems.

Lastly, their contact form allows you to send them a message from their website, but it is just an email.

Overall, Yeti’s customer support is good, but it could be improved by 24/7 access. Also, there have been a few complaints about their service (which you’ll see below).

3. Bonuses & free spins (what’s on the table?)

The Yeti welcome bonus is designed for their new customers. When you sign up to their site then you can get free spins on registration no deposit UK. This allows you to try out their games before depositing your own money. If you do decide to make a first deposit then Yeti will give you even more. Here’s how it breaks down:

  • 23 spins no deposit required
  • 100% up to £111 + 77 extra spins on first deposit

New customers only, min deposit £10, wagering 60x for refund bonus, max bet £5 with bonus funds. Extra Spins bonus has x40 wagering. 23 extra spins on registration (max withdrawal is £100). 100% refund bonus up to £111 + 77 extra spins on 1st deposit. No max cash out on deposit offers. Welcome bonus excluded for players depositing with Ecopayz, Skrill, Neteller. Full T&Cs apply.

However much you deposit of your own money, Yeti Casino will give you in bonus money – up to £111. But this is also a ‘refund bonus’, which means the casino does not give it to you as you deposit. Instead, you have to deposit, play, and lose your own money. The casino then refunds you that sum of money (up to £111) the following day. This isn’t so bad, but it does mean that you’re using your own money first.

What is quite bad are the wagering requirements attached to the bonus money. The bonus money comes with wagering requirements of x60, which is much higher than many other offers. What’s quite useful is that Yeti does provide a counter to show how much of the bonus you have wagered:

However, to highlight how unreasonable x60 requirements are, let’s consider £20 in bonus money. To be able to withdraw that money you’d have to wager that £20 x 60, which is £1200. And, you’d have to do that in 30 days. That’s a very large sum of money that you need to bet before the bonus turns into real money that you can withdraw.

Of course, we think all bonuses should be used mainly for fun. But the best casino bonuses in the UK at least give the player a reasonable chance of winning, not a tiny chance like here.

While Yeti have many casino deposit methods, a few of these cannot be used to trigger the bonus – check the terms and conditions to see which are available.

Once you’ve used the offer above, Yeti Casino have several promotions for their existing players such as random weekly bonuses, cashback bonuses, and tournaments.

4. Yeti verification

One part of UK legislation is that all players must have their accounts verified by the casino before playing. All online casinos in the UK have to do this, so if a casino doesn’t ask you for verification (or advertises their site with ‘no verification needed’), then you should avoid them. They’re not a legitimate site.

To verify your account, Yeti will likely ask you for the following documents:

  • Photo ID
  • Utility bills
  • Bank statements

These will allow Yeti support agents to confirm your identity.

Yeti claim that once you’ve sent the necessary verification documents, they “move as quickly as possible to verify them and process your withdrawals”. In some cases, Yeti can be a casino with no ID verification withdrawals where you don’t need to send any documents. But this all depends on each scenario (which we’ll get to later on in this review).

5. Yeti Casino reviews from players

If we take a look at Yeti reviews from casino players around the web then we should get a better idea of what people think of them. This will then allow you to get an idea of whether Yeti will be good for you and whether you’ll have a positive experience.

So, how do Yeti fare online? Well, judging by their TrustPilot page, things have been mixed.

Some have complained that the verification process and payouts are slow, for example:

Unfortunately, we can’t verify this claim about the verification. When we signed for this Yeti Casino review, we were lucky enough to be automatically verified using the information on our registration form. Also, verification has been a tricky issue for a while now. It can take longer for some players over others. But casinos have to follow through with verification in line with their UK licence. Here’s another review which said their verification and withdrawal went smoothly:

One thing you can do is make sure to have updated documents to try and start things off properly. A common problem with manual verification is unclear or out-of-date copies of documentation.

In terms of the withdrawal, we managed to cash out £20 when completing our Yeti Casino review. So we are able to comment on that. We put our request in on a Saturday evening and had the money back on our Visa card by Monday morning:

Our Yeti withdrawal time

So not an instant withdrawal casino UK but also we weren’t waiting around for days or even weeks.

We also benefitted from Visa Direct at Yeti Casino – which is a much faster way to send money across the Visa network. You need to have a compatible card (most UK banks issue them) to be eligible. But you will receive the payout back onto this card in hours or even minutes – instead of the usual 1-3 working days.

Yeti Casino review summary

Overall, Yeti is a legit and trustworthy site and we think they are one of the top casinos available for UK players at the moment.

Here are some of the most positive parts of our Yeti Casino review:

  • Good selection of slots & games
  • Visa Direct payments
  • 24/7 customer support – including phone calls

There are definitely a few things to work on, such as reducing the welcome bonus wagering requirements which are very high. But the site has a lot more positives than negatives.

If you want to try out Yeti, then head over to their site and see what you think. Once you’ve done, then come back and leave a review.
